The installation measures 35 inches in height and 43 inches in width and is meticulously hand-embroidered, with the option of a reinforced framework available if required. It magnifies the traditional Northern Nigerian Zanna Bukar cap to approximately twenty-seven times its customary surface area, reimagining a familiar cultural object as an architectural, contemporary art form.
Entirely hand-stitched, the work was produced through a collaborative process that engaged women, youth, and elderly artisans, embedding collective labor and intergenerational knowledge into its making. The installation is signed, structurally sound, and presented in excellent condition.
